The man born Symere Woods, 24, in Philadelphia quietly climbed onto Instagram Story Friday evening and conveyed the fact that, in the middle of his artistic prime, he is retiring from the game.

Uzi didn't share much more on the situation, but it seems that Eternal Atake isn't coming out anytime soon.

Lil Uzi Vert is, without doubt, one of the top young rap artists of his era and has notched a number of smash hit singles over the past three years while amassing a loyal fan base. "I deleted everything. I wanna be normal ..." "I deleted everything. I wanna be normal.I wanna wake up in 2013".

He added at the bottom of the post, "You are free".

However, Uzi's apparently not planning to release the project anymore as he claims to be quitting music cold turkey.

"I know y'all wondering when I'ma drop my album". I'm finally done with that joint'.

Lil Uzi first came to prominence in 2015 with his mixtape Luv Is Rage, followed by Lil Uzi Vert vs The World and The Perfect LUV Tape. Lil Uzi Vert's been preparing for the album's release throughout 2018.

His 2017 debut album Luv is Rage 2 charted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and the catchy single "XO Tour Llif3", immediately connected with fans.

We can only hope that Lil Uzi's "retirement" is similar to that of Jay Z and Justin Bieber.
