Defensively, Washington did what Washington does.

The Huskies took away ASU's perimeter game (6 of 17 on three-pointers), forced 24 turnovers and kept the game within reach for most of the night.

The Sun Devils and Huskies will tip off from Wells Fargo Arena tonight at 8 p.m.

Arizona State's only first-half problem: turnovers. Randolph had two points on 1 of 6 shooting from the field. CJ Elleby almost had a triple-double for Washington State in that one with 10 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.

Washington struggled mightily from the three-point line.

Among UW's remaining opponents, only a handful of teams have a player like Cheatham who can hurt the Huskies.

Washington State comes into this one with a 9-14 record overall. Ellerby are multi-dimensional players who can operate inside and be effective with their shot-making and passing.

Without him, the Huskies relied heavily on Sam Timmins and Noah Dickerson. The Cougars shot 57 percent, going 8 of 18 from 3-point range. Even though it's been an bad year for the league, the Huskies aren't apologizing, taking complete control and a four game lead in the conference. The Huskies are flawless in Pac-12 play and have won 12 straight games overall. Teammate Brandon Randolph was 1-for-6 shooting. Dominic Green finished with a career-high five steals, but tallied just six points.

And Nahziah Carter was scoreless on 0-for-5 shooting in 15 minutes off the bench. The last time the Washington basketball team lost was on December 15th, 2018 to #11 ranked Virginia Tech 73-61 on a neutral site.

Crisp, the closest thing to a point guard, will likely be guarded by Remy Martin, while Thybulle and Nowell will likely be countered with Rob Edwards and Luguentz Dort, respectively.

It's been so long since their last loss so there's really no telling how the Huskies will handle their first setback in almost two months. Starter Hameir Wright didn't play.

The Cougars had 11 assists by halftime compared with only one for Arizona. He isn't expected to play against the Washington State Cougars on Saturday, January 9th either.

Washington State (10-4, 3-8 Pac-12) won at Arizona State on Thursday, sweeping the Arizona schools on the road for the first time since the 2006-07 season and won in Tucson for the first time since January 8, 2010.
