Tonight, Cardi performed "Money" during the ceremony. We can only imagine what it felt like live; we can feel fresh waves of adrenaline radiating from our television sets.

Cardi B is up for three Grammys this year. The entire number felt like being in a jazz den in the 1940s, the viewer starring as a nameless detective who has been enchanted by a stunning femme fatale.

Cardi B can really do it all. Seconds later, however, the camera panned over to the mother of one shaking it on stage for her husband, Offset, who couldn't hide how much he was digging the song.

While Cardi's the first woman to win the award for a solo act, Lauryn Hill did win best rap album as part of hip-hop group Fugees (also made up of Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel) in 1997. Her single, "I Like It", with Bad Bunny and J Balvin, was nominated for record of the year, "Be Careful" for best rap performance, and her collaboration with Maroon 5, "Girls Like You", for best pop duo/group performance.
