She accessorised the stunning gown with glittering silver stilettos and striking pearl and diamanté earrings and a bracelet, believed to have belonged to her late mother-in-law Princess Diana.

Including during an official visit to Pakistan in 1991, to a banquet in South Korea in 1992 and to a gala held at the Palace of Versailles in France in 1994. Diana wore the earrings to a Pavarotti Concert at The Royal Albert Hall in 1995.

The Duchess went for an nearly bridal look, donning a sweeping, one-shoulder white gown by her favourite designer Alexander McQueen. She also took a cue from her sister-in-law Meghan Markle and finished off her look with a smoky eye and sparkly lip gloss-something the Duchess of Sussex wore on Thursday during her and Prince Harry's night out at the Endeavour Fund Awards.

Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge has outshone some of Hollywood's biggest stars as a special guest at the British Academy Film Awards.

Following the evening's ceremony, Kate and William rubbed shoulders with the night's award winners, including Best Adapted Screenplay winner Spike Lee, Best Supporting Actress winner Rachel Weisz and Rising Star award winner Letitia Wright.

Rami Malek won the best actor award for his portrayal of the late Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody while Mahershala Ali was awarded best supporting actor for his role as a pianist in Green Book.
