"I want to begin by saying how honored I am to be nominated alongside so many female artists this year".

Dua Lipa had a big night at the 2019 Grammy Awards, where she took home two awards, Best Dance Recording and Best New Name. In the category with Bebe Rexha and Greta Van Fleek, Lipa is amongst seriously talented artists-and she totally deserves to be there.

The singer thanked her fans who "have allowed me to be the best..."

Moments before her win, she also performed live with singer/songwriter St Vincent, swapping between her song Masseduction and the chart-topping One Kiss, also throwing in a few lines of Respect as a tribute to Aretha Franklin. Lipa was making a reference to Recording Academy president Neil Portnow's argument that women in music needed to "step up" if they wanted to get recognized for their accomplishments.

Lipa continued, "For anyone who hasn't realized how special they are to have a different story or background, just know that no matter where you're from, never let that get in the way of your dreams".
