"These other contestants have been blooming while all of this has bloomin" been going on, ' he said, 'but I am glad the contestants we have in the show now have their time to shine'.

While the reality star was voted out of the competition last night, Gemma lost two-and-a-half stone during her time on the show.

Days later, during the live episode, Jason then compared her to Anna Nicole Smith and later labelled her a "brat" when she lashed out at him and accused him of selling stories on her.

Joining Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on the sofa, Gemma spoke out about the criticism she received from viewers and judges, and commented on her spat with Jason Gardiner. He's only there to do his job.

"I was fine with what he was saying about my skating, but I didn't like it when he body shamed him".

"I think the first form of defence is attack, isn't it?"

"You need to up the ante, because you know we are not going to see big lifts from you, we're not going to get any impressive moves".

"We know that, Jason".

"And when that baby's born I Want to love it so much and never let it go".

She joked that they had "become sort of friends now", and Gardiner quipped back: "I wouldn't go that far".

Gemma's boyfriend James Argent paid tribute to her on twitter after she was booted off the show.

He told Lorraine Kelly: "I'm relieved for the other contestants that are in the show who are really brilliant that now the focus can be on their merit and how hard they've worked". It was disturbing because she never actually apologised, either. I don't want people to destroy the great legacy the show has already achieved'.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 8.30am, while This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am, both on ITV. "That was why I agreed to do dancing on ice, to help me long term".
