On Friday, Ohio State announced that the NCAA has granted Mars' client Justin Fields an immediate eligibility waiver after transferring from Georgia just last month.

He was eligible for the waiver because of a racial incident back at Georgia when a baseball player allegedly referred to him using a slur.

The former Georgia quarterback played in 12 games for the Bulldogs in 2018 as the backup to starter Jake From.

In a statement issued by Ohio State, Fields said speculation about his transfer "took on a life of its own". "Justin's not only a great quarterback".

I thank God for His guidance during this time of uncertainty. I have no regrets about my time at UGA and have no hard feelings for the school or football program.

"My overall experience at UGA was fully consistent with UGA's commitment to diversity and inclusion", Fields said.

Mars, who also helped MI quarterback Shea Patterson receive approval on his waiver for eligibility last season, along with five other Ole Miss players, issued a statement Friday in response to the ruling. I am still close friends with many of my UGA teammates.

Justin Fields #1 of the Georgia Bulldogs passes against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on September 15, 2018 at Sanford Stadiuym in Athens, Georgia.

To Buckeye Nation: thank you for your warm welcome. My dad always tells me that "you can't get to where you are going by looking in the 'rear view mirror.'" I'm ready to move forward and embrace the next season of my life. While Ohio State isn't slated to face Texas football in 2019, this ruling handed to them from the NCAA could also have a major impact with an ongoing situation on the Forty Acres.

I will not be speaking about my transfer again.

He racked up 328 yards and four touchdowns through the air, while adding 266 yards and four scores on the ground. He also threw four touchdowns.

He will join Buckeye quarterbacks Matthew Baldwin and Chris Chugunov as Ohio State looks to replace record-setting quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
