Vancouver Weather Forecast Calls For Another 15-25 cm Of Snow Today

The heaviest snow for east Vancouver Island is expected on the Malahat Highway, while the heaviest snow for inland Vancouver Island is expected in the Lake Cowichan area.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become hard to navigate due to accumulating snow.

BC Ferries will cancel its evening sailings between the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island due to deteriorating weather conditions.

Sidney RCMP says bad driving conditions caused at least 12 collisions along the roadway Sunday.

Heavy snow is falling on Vancouver Island and some school districts are already announcing that classes will be cancelled again on Tuesday.

Snowfall hit the Metro Vancouver region quickly and swiftly on Sunday afternoon, with up to 10 centimetres expected. Traffic was stalled around the Alex Fraser Bridge due to hard driving conditions.

According to Environment Canada, snow is also expected for Greater Victoria, the southern Gulf Islands, and eastern and inland Vancouver Island. It asked passengers to use caution at bus loops and SkyTrain stations and urged them to dress warmly.
