$448 million jackpot up for grabs in Wednesday's Powerball drawing

The lottery is still looking for its first jackpot victor of 2019 to take home a grand prize of $495 million after no one matched all six numbers Wednesday night. The red Powerball number was 14. One ticket in Florida matched the five white balls and included the Power Play option, which raised the prize to $2 million. Those picking the 5 correct white balls will win $1 million, or more if a Power Play is purchased. Two of those tickets were sold in NY and are worth $1 million each.

· In Michigan, one ticket sold won $50,000. Pennsylvania also had a third-prize victor worth $50,000.

This is the 22nd Powerball drawing since the jackpot was hit the day after Christmas. Now, he's going to chill out. The Mega Millions jackpot for the March 15 drawing is $40 million.

The twice-weekly Powerball lottery has gone 21 drawings without a jackpot victor. The last jackpot was won December 26 by David Johnson, a 56-year-old supermarket worker from Brooklyn, New York, who hit for a $298.3 million jackpot.

Of course, federal and jurisdictional taxes apply to both options.

The Powerball jackpot was won eight times previous year, including once in New Jersey.

A $2 ticket gives you a one in 292.2 million chance at joining the hall of Powerball champions.

Powerball is held in 44 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
