In one of the videos, now being circulated on social media by fan clubs, Ranveer can be heard saying: "Can I take her home?"

The unveiling was streamed live on Instagram, and the video shows both the Padukones and the Bhavnanis posing next to the statue. Deepika had announced that she'd be getting the wax treatment in July, 2018. Ranveer was awestruck and wanted to take it back home. She was also featured on the cover of American Vogue, along with Avengers star Scarlett Johansson and Korean actor Doona Bae.

Announcing her wax statue a year ago, Deepika had said in a video, "It's fun, exciting and in a way I feel a lot of gratitude because you know when you give your fans a little more than just the movies, then it's really, really special".

Expressing her thoughts, Deepika Padukone said, "As a little girl, I was a very curious kid, for me, the goal is something that is very important". While Varun calls himself the couple's "adopted son", Deepika too joins in the fun and quips that that she has made sure that Varun Dhawan has slept well, eaten well, went to the loo and so on. I said that's it, I would like for my fans when they see my figure I hope it reminds them of someone who did something for the cause of mental illness, who worked towards creating awareness and destigmatizing mental illness.
