De Gea demands Man Utd improvement for Barcelona trip

Asked why United had passed up so many chances, Solskjær said: "That's the $100m question: who can score goals?"

The return of Alexis Sanchez will most definitely be a boost for Man United but we do not expect the Chilean to start the game for two main reasons.

"That memory of PSG will help the players, "Solskjaer told reporters in his press conference on Monday". Barcelona is a hard prospect. "It's about confidence and being focused".

Now into their thirties, Suarez and Messi still pose Barca's biggest threats, combining for 66 goals this season.

United also had too little of the possession to seriously damage Barcelona and Solskjaer acknowledged they can not afford that to happen again. "We've been practising finishing, but when you don't work the keeper you can't score". You have to do that against Barcelona. Normally they would win with 80 per cent.

"For us now we need to forget about the past".

"We have got the players".

Solskjaer said he will not be anxious if United do not score early and is aware they may have to be patient if they are to proceed to the semi-finals for the first since 2011. We have to be better than what we did last week.

"We are physically taller than them, we are bigger than them".

"We're in the business end, playing games Manchester United are used to playing".

United have scored only once at home in five European games, but they have proven to be better away from home. Football games are always decided on decisions and mentality. It would be the same for us tomorrow.

"But if they (United) can score the first goal then it's going to make the stadium nervous - and you never know what can happen then". Sometimes it's a counterattack, sometimes it's a quick play.

"If you want to win, if you want to play at Man United you have to have a personality", Solskjaer said.

As far as Coutinho is concerned, he may have failed to set the world alight at Barcelona but he's a supremely gifted player who would suit Maurizio Sarri's style of play at Stamford Bridge.

"If we give our all and have a little bit of concentration".

"Physically we're ready", he said. It's not that long ago and we're one goal better off.

United will also welcome back Nemanja Matic for the match at Camp Nou. "Let's hope that when he is on the pitch, he can be happy with his performance".

Fate: "I believe that you get what you deserve in sports. Belief is one thing, concentration and effort is another thing".
