Shikhar Dhawan finally overcame a poor run of form at the top of the order as the Delhi Capitals beat the Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 wickets in an IPL 2019 encounter at Kolkata on Saturday. We got to see Andre Russell's sixes and Shikhar Dhawan's unbeaten 97 off 63 balls.

Two-time champions India begin their World Cup campaign against South Africa in Southampton on June 5.

"Rishabh played according to the situation, we pushed him up to four, to give him more opportunity to bat".

Delhi Capitals: Shreyas Iyer (capt), Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant (wk), Colin Ingram, Keemo Paul, Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Amit Mishra, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Hanuma Vihari, Ankush Bains, Harshal Patel, Manjot Kalra, Chris Morris, Sherfane Rutherford, Jalaj Saxena, Sandeep Lamichhane, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Nathu Singh, Bandaru Ayyappa, Colin Munro.

Shreyas Iyer fell in the sixth over to put more pressure on Dhawan, who also had a reprieve when he was given not out on a review, despite snicko showing a small spike. The visiting team completed the chase with seven deliveries to spare. KKR, who have struggled to take wickets this season, once again found the going hard in the middle overs.

"The best part of the game was how we bowled in the match".

On his new role, Ganguly said: "It is much more hard to sit in the dugout than playing in the middle".

Ganguly insisted that he and his new partner in Delhi's head coach and former Australian rival Ricky Ponting were determined to turn Delhi's fortunes around. Both the team made some couple of changes. "So there's a lot of self-pride in turning teams around". Later, he moved to the Pune Warriors franchise and now he's the advisor for Delhi Capitals. There were talks of "conflict of interest" with few of his detractors claiming that he would have "a say" in pitch preparation at Eden Gardens.

KKR, on the other hand, will be banking on spin trio Kuldeep Yadav, Piyush Chawla and Sunil Narine and their batting line up looks sorted with Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell and Dinesh Karthik in form. "I know many stories are cooked up, but I can't do anything about it", Ganguly said.
