Issuing a statement via aides on 11 April, the couple have taken the "personal decision" to keep plans surrounding the birth "private", sharing their news "once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately". The two are expected to welcome their baby sometime this month, though they are keeping the details of the birth a secret.

The Queen was also said to be unimpressed by Meghan's demands to borrow a tiara from the Royal Collection for her wedding, telling Harry that "she gets what tiara she's given by me", reported the Daily Mail. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are breaking royal rules with their baby's birth. Reports emerged earlier this week that Meghan has chosen a home birth. With a keen interest in design and interior, the Duchess will no doubt have had a lot of involvement in the décor of their new home and will be using her time putting the finishing touches to the baby's nursery.

"I think she's being portrayed unfairly, and I feel that if people really knew her they would know that she is not only everything we perceive of her in being graceful and dynamic in holding that position, but she just has a wonderful, warm, giving, loving heart", Winfrey, 65, said of the Duchess of Sussex, 37.

A water birth involves the mother spending the final stages of labour in a pool, so the baby enters the world under water. In 1984, it all happened again when Harry was born and the tradition was cemented.

"William and Kate have fought an aggressive behind-the-scenes campaign to ensure that any paparazzi pictures of their children are not used by the mainstream British press".

Juliet Angus, a lifestyle blogger, who also appears on the documentary says about Meghan's potential nanny: 'I'm not sure if Mary Poppins is around, but this will be a tough one for any nanny'. Their decision to move from bustling Kensington Palace in London to live the private life at Windsor's Frogmore Cottage is just one example of the pair forging a more modern - and unique - royal path. The former actress has already said that her belief in gender equality is something she will pass on. And the world is watching.
