Quincy, Massachusetts-based Stop & Shop, a division of grocery giant Ahold Delhaize, has stores across the Northeast however, the attack affects 240 stores in the 3 nations.

United Food & Commercial Workers union members out of sailors walked off the job, with some picketing out the stores.

U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren stood on a picket line with striking supermarket workers on Friday to voice her support for their labor fight.

More than 31,000 workers in Rhode Island and CT also walked off the job on Thursday at 1pm. Their last contract expired in February.

United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) and Stop & Shop are now in negotiations in hopes to come to an agreement and end the strike by employees of Stop & Shop in Connecticut, Rhode Island, and MA.

While the pharmacy, People's Bank and Dunkin' Donuts are open, the store shelves have not been restocked since Thursday, when the strike began. But the union says raises would be eaten up by higher health care costs.

Many part-time employees would receive an average general wage increase of less than 2 percent, according to a letter published by the union.

Most Stop & Shop locations remained open under modified hours and staffed by temporary workers, the company said.
