They got married in 2015 and a month later he started apparently using ecstasy.

The 32-year-old actress has previously made domestic abuse allegations against her ex-husband - whom she was married to for just over a year before filing for divorce in May 2016 - but is now being faced with a $50 million defamation lawsuit from Johnny, who claims her accusations were an "elaborate hoax".

"A hoax confronted with the reality of evidence requires new lies to sustain itself", Depp's attorney said in the statement.

Depp allegedly became violent again during an August 2015 trip to Thailand and Malaysia. "I want to ensure that women who come forward to talk about violence receive more support ... we can work together to demand changes to laws and rules and social norms-and to right the imbalances that have shaped our lives". "We called that version of Johnny".

Heard claims Depp threw a phone at her face which hit her in the eye. He provocatively pushed a chair at me as I walked by, yelled at me, and taunted me by yelling out the name 'James Franco'. "I never attacked Johnny other than in self-defence".

"He's still holding on to my head at this time and he said - I don't know if he's trying to grab my face but he's yelling at me, screaming, 'Let me see how hard I hit you.' I am screaming at the top of my lungs, help, help please help". "Johnny continued to scream obscenities until he went into the plane bathroom and passed out locked in the bathroom for the remainder of the flight".

The Telegraph reported incoherent text messages allegedly sent by Depp to his then-wife, presumably while he was under the influence of alcohol.

The actress also details several other alleged incidents in her response, including occasions where she claims Johnny "strangled" her, "punched" her, and "threw cans and unopened glass bottles" at her. When she got up the next morning, Depp had not slept because of the effects of the drugs, and he was drinking, she said; another argument turned physical, leading her to lock herself in another room, but Depp forced his way through the door, she claimed. People I have never met or spoken to threatened me with violence", she said, adding: "People accused me of having abused Johnny. She was afraid that Depp would push her down the stairs, she claimed.

Warner Bros have a little bit more time to make a decision on Depp's future, as even though Rowling has finished the script for Fantastic Beasts 3, filming has been delayed to the autumn of 2020, while it won't hit cinemas now until 2021.

Yahoo Entertainment US reached out to Heard's lawyer for comment, but did not immediately receive a response.

Heard filed for a restraining order not long after the incident she described. "Heard has made a decision to concoct new fake claims of abuse", Johnny's attorney Adam Waldman stated, via The Blast.

Depp's supposed unsafe behavior came to light in 2016, when then-wife Amber Heard filed for divorce on the grounds of physical cruelty.

Heard said she did not know at the time if he was still listening but that she could "only hope" she was. They were part of an elaborate hoax to generate positive publicity for Ms. He was angered, she said, because Heard and James Franco had shot a romantic scene one day earlier.

Depp's lawyers described Heard's suggestions that Depp was abusive during their relationship as "categorically and demonstrably false", and claimed that her allegations cost him his role in the "Pirates" franchise, according to the outlet.
