In the video from the evening of November 7, 2018, a man wearing a distinctive ball cap and hoodie holds the front of a large cardboard box with one gloved hand, the other hidden behind the package.

Police said on November 7, 2018 at approximately 8 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Bayberry Drive in Mississauga where a 44-year-old woman was located with life-threatening injuries.

They say the crossbow used in this case was meant for large game hunting in order to "inflict the maximum amount of damage possible". "She'll be in the recovery phase for the rest of her life".

"The injuries that she sustained were absolutely devastating", said Peel police Det.

Police have released security footage of the suspect, and are asking anyone with information to come forward.

At the press conference, police brought a camouflage crossbow believed to be similar to the one in the attack.

The two briefly exchanged words at the front door before the man fired the crossbow, hitting the woman with an arrow that caused life-threatening injuries. After a short conversation, the suspect then shot the victim with an arrow from a crossbow that was hidden inside of the box.

Investigators have not ruled out that the man may have been hired to carry out the attack.

After a brief conversation, he fires the weapon and flees in a dark pickup truck. She was able to close the door as he ran, and call 911. She was transported to a trauma centre and spent several months in hospital.

'Comments that were made to the victim by the suspect indicate that the victim was targeted and that the suspect may have carried out the attack at the request of another individual. "It involved damage to a lot of her internal organs", Kettles said.

Investigators initially said the woman was injured by an "edged weapon". Heather Raymor. "It is clear that this attack was meant to end the victim's life". Kettles said the shoes and baseball hat worn by the suspect were unique - and the suspect did not hide his face, giving investigators a number of potential clues.

She saw him clearly, but did not recognize him, said police. "We are open to anything at this point and we are looking at all possible investigative avenues", he said.
