Beyonce has unveiled a surprise live album of her historic 2018 Coachella performance on the same day as a documentary about the headlining slot has been released. The live album titled HOMECOMING: THE LIVE ALBUM features songs she did live on the stage but there's a nice little surprise. While the trailer for the Homecoming film has been circulating on Youtube for the past week, plans to release the performance as an album were kept mum until Beyonce herself tweeted the link at midnight PST.

Beyonce made history at 2018's Coachella in California as the first black woman to headline the music and arts festival. Back then, she secretly launched the album without warning, accompanying it with the Lemonade short film which aired on HBO, then migrated to the Tidal streaming platform. It was the most-watched livestreamed performance of all time.

Homecoming features live versions of signature Beyoncé hits like Drunk in Love, Run The World and Formation plus Destiny's Child classics Lose My Breath and Say My Name with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and collaborations with her husband Jay Z and reggaeton star J Balvin.

The 37-year-old entertainer included a cover of Frankie Beverly and Maze's 1981 song "Before I Let Go" in the end credits.

Homecoming is out now via Parkwood Entertainment and Columbia Records.
