Latest iPhone leak reinforces suggestion of asymmetrical square camera bump

If a new rumor is true, it seems that Apple is taking the same colorful route and plans to introduce the 2019 iPhone XR successor in six colors as well - two of them new.

While this may be exciting, Bloomberg confirms all three iPhone models will still look the same as their predecessors, with the obvious exception of the square protrusion in the back for the cameras. Though the iPhone XR successor only has two cameras, they still have that square housing, though the array isn't quite as big as it is on the other two phones. In addition to White, Black, Yellow, and (PRODUCT) RED, the iPhone 11R will be available in Green and Lavender, which will replace the Blue and Coral color options.

Aside from the 2019 iPhone XR's colors, MacOtakara's sources also claim that silicone cases for the 2019 iPhone XS and XS Max will come in white, black, spearmint, mellow yellow, red and lilac.

These new colors will serve to add variety to this year's premium iPhones. With Apple adding it, the brand hopes for mass adoption of this feature and it could be used to wirelessly charge the recently released Apple AirPods 2. On the higher-end models, the three cameras are arranged in a triangle and seated on a square bulge. The bump has three circular slots for the triple rear cameras placed in a triangular position. We're expecting the next-generation iPhone XR - maybe called iPhone XR2 - to incorporate a dual-lens camera as the more expensive iPhone XS will move up the scale to include a triple lens arrangement.

Meanwhile, more case renders have surfaced over on SlashLeaks that give us an idea of what the upcoming device's camera might look like while decked out in a third party housing (it still ain't pretty, as it turns out).

The iPhone XR is among the devices with most activations during the Christmas 2018 holiday.
