Having suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Ajax in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, Tottenham had all to do in the return leg in Amsterdam.

Spurs concluded the Premier League season with a 2-2 home draw against Everton on Sunday which saw them finish fourth, but with one more fixture to play before the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

He admitted he would need "to think about maybe doing something different" if Spurs won the Champions League given the circumstances they have faced and later in the week added "I am not open to start a new chapter with no plan" but Lloris refused to be drawn on what will happen.

Lloris, who has previously stated his future is "tied to Pochettino", said: "As a player and even as a captain, it's important for me to stay in my place".

"I think we can make history", he said. We need to assess him, but I think he was exhausted, but for the circumstance again we played with him.

"I know very well how this business works", Pochettino said. "That type of discussion is only between him and the board".

Tottenham boss Maurico Pochettino says he would be "stupid" to remain at the club if there is no concrete plan going forward.

"Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino says English clubs" European clean sweep proves the Premier League is best in the world.

Those talks could now be make-or-break as to whether Pochettino is still at the club next season. Of course we are all excited now (for the Champions League final) and it's hard to see the future but the future arrives quick.

"In the five years we have achieved a lot of things, but now it's what's next?"

"He's done so much for us and helped us to improve".

According to a report by Football London, it's a role that could see him regain his place in the Tottenham first team after a season marred by injuries and inconsistency, as they claim the manager is "insistent" over Dier's ability in the position. It's to his credit and his coaching staff obviously and we will see.

"If we believe that if we operate in the same way that we have operated in the last five years we are going to be every season in the final of the Champions League, and in the top four and competing against projects like Liverpool or Manchester City or Manchester United, I think we are very naive", he said.
