The 52-year-old has been unable to visit Stamford Bridge this season due to the denial of a visa extension by the United Kingdom government, following tensions with Russian Federation in 2018.

"It's hard for him, he has been away but his heart is here".

"I had the opportunity to talk with him last week to decide my future", Luiz told The Daily Mail.

"He loves the club and everything that is inside the club, not just the people".

"He's the one who built Chelsea - everything at Chelsea changed because of him". He wants to win everything, he wants to do more.

Abramovich has not attended Chelsea games in recent months as his visa to visit the United Kingdom has not been renewed, with speculation mounting that he is looking to sell the club he purchased in 2003 for a fee of around £2billion.

"It's hard for him, he has been away but his heart is here". He is still really passionate for the club. He doesn't want to lose energy.

David Luiz and his Chelsea team-mates have come under harsh criticism this season due to mixed results, but find themselves in a Europa League final with the chance to add a 16th trophy to Abramovich's reign.

Chelsea finished third under Maurizio Sarri to return to the Champions League and Luiz said the London club has exceeded pre-season expectations as they look to finish the campaign with a Europa League trophy when they face Arsenal in Baku on May 29.

Abramovich has been in a long-running dispute with the United Kingdom government, although he is expected to attend Chelsea's friendly against New England Revolution tonight in aid of their "Say No to Antisemitism" campaign.

"We did wonderful, especially with the first year for a new coach", added the Brazilian. Everybody thought we were going to be out of the Champions League.
