While we'll have to wait a while longer for an official announcement, a new report already offers predictions about the console's price and launch date. It was at a stand still, until now.

Inside that, he mentioned that he expects Sony Interactive Entertainment to launch the console roughly around Novemeber 2020.

Elsewhere, Yasuda said that Google Stadia is unlikely to prove much of a threat to the PS5, and that the system will sell around 21 million units worldwide by March 31, 2022.

Despite the fact that Yasuda's words are just a prediction, his opinion has a significant value in the tech community.

If the release is really scheduled for November 2020, as analysts predicted, then it is quite possible that a new piece of information about the console will be disclosed at the E3 conference in 2020. For example, Pelham Smithers of the Pelham Smithers Associates market research firm believes that, depending on the CPU the PS5 uses, it will retail for $399 instead, which is a full $100 cheaper than Yasuda's PS5 price prediction. In the end, the PS5 is considered to be very powerful equipment, and although it's still far off until November 2020, it's hard to imagine that the price of the console could be less than $500. Sony itself has confirmed that the PS5 won't release within the next 12 months, and while it's not unprecedented to release a video game console in spring or summer, consoles usually launch in the fall. But considering how powerful the PS5 is going to be, based on the specs revealed by Cerny during his interview with Wired, saying that the PS5 is no mere upgrade but a true generational shift, it seems that a $499 price point seems likely and reasonable.
