Air pollution kills 100,000 Indian kids every year, study finds

Traffic has contributed greatly to air pollution in the country compared to industrial pollution.

With the air quality deteriorating in India each day, getting toxic every year, this song is a call to action for everyone to come together, and tackle the biggest killer, Air Pollution.

The State of India's Environment (SoE) Report found air pollution is responsible for 12.5 percent of all deaths in the country - painting a bleak picture of the environmental record of recent Indian governments.

UN Environment says there are a number of simple steps people can take to combat air pollution, including using public transport, cycling or walking, composting organic foods, reducing red meat and dairy consumption and switching to high-efficiency heating.

Earlier in March, Egypt's Ministry of Environment announced the establishment of the first monitoring station for instant air pollutants in El Minya governorate.

'The country's progress in renewable energy in 2018-19 has also been dismal, ' the CSE said.

There is a paramount need to protect the environment at the moment, and this is what World Environment Day, which is celebrated every year on June 5, highlights.
