Consumers should check their homes for the recalled product, and throw them out or return them to the store they were purchased, they said.

Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause serious and sometimes life-threatening infections.

This recall was triggered by Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) test results. Symptoms include nausea, fever, vomiting, serve headache, neck stiffness, and muscle aches.

Pregnant women, the elderly, young children, and people such as cancer patients who have weakened immune systems are particularly at risk of serious illnesses, life-threatening infections and other complications.
