But Unai Emery is keen to secure the services of the Scotland global with a new left-back one of his top priorities.

According to reports, Arsenal have increased their offer to the Celtic left-back to £25m, making a move to the Premier League "inevitable" for the left-back. So that's one we'll look at.

The left-back, also linked with Napoli, is recovering from a double hernia operation after being restricted to nine appearances in 2019.

"He is rehabbing. He had the double hernia, and he still has the osteitis pubis problem, so it's a slow burner".

Neil Lennon has revealed why key defender Kieran Tierney has been missing for the duration of Celtic's pre-season and Champions League qualifying campaign so far.

If the deal goes through, Tierney, 22, would become the most expensive player in Scottish football history.

But Lennon is hoping he is still a Celtic player, and a fully fit one, when the league season kicks off.

The current record is the £19.7m that Lyon paid the Hoops for Moussa Dembele last summer.

Unai Emery's men are wrestling with a tight transfer budget this summer.

All eyes will be on whether Celtic deem the bid acceptable and then allow Tierney to speak to Arsenal. However, Neil Lennon has been gushing in his praise for the Celtic youth product and believes he should be rewarded with a new long term deal.
