Based on Louisa May Alcott's 1868 novel, the trailer introduces the four March sisters - Meg (Emma Watson, "Harry Potter"), Jo (Saoirse Ronan, "Lady Bird"), Beth (Eliza Scanlen, "Sharp Objects"), and Amy (Florence Pugh, "Midsommar") - living in a cramped house Alcott loosely based on her own home in Concord. Sony Pictures has finally debuted the first official trailer for Little Women, another big screen adaptation based on the beloved classic American novel of the same name (there was also a film in 1994 based on it featuring Winona Ryder). "And they've got ambition and talent as well as just beauty".

Ronan, who is taking the helm as Jo, is the undoubted lead and lives up to the character's illustrious history in both literature and film.

Major household names, Emma Thompson, Meryl Streep and Laura Dern feature and with new kid on the block, Timothée Chalamet, who won rave reviews for his Beautiful Boy performance, the line-up truly is incredible.

We see each of the sisters' passions throughout the trailer, and how being a woman in 1860's New England adds road blocks to their respective paths.

"Little Women" will hit theaters on December 25, 2019. It is due for release in the United Kingdom and Ireland on December 26 after the film's Christmas Day release in the US.
