Mukesh Ambani seconds irked shareholder's view — RIL AGM

Speaking at the 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries, Chairman Mukesh Ambani called upon on the security, trust, and automation, which Blockchain technology can bring.

Reliance Jio is all set to install one of the largest Blockchain networks across the country in the next 12 months with tens of thousands of nodes operational on day one.

According to the company's latest shareholder communication, Reliance Retail and Jio are said to have collectively contributed almost 32% to the consolidated EBITDA of the Indian conglomerate, which is up from the 2% figure, five years ago.

Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea's stocks dipped on Tuesday on the back of slew of announcements by Reliance Industries regarding its telecom unit Jio, which include an IPO within next 5 years.

Here, we're highlighting everything around Jio GigaFiber that grabbed eyeballs during the AGM 2019.

JioFiber plans will start from Rs 700 per month and will offer a host of smart services through the Jio set-top box. Reliance Jio will sell Holoboard separately and will be available to users at an "affordable" price. Jio Fiber will have plans ranging from 100Mbps for ₹700 ($10) per month, going all the way up to 1GBps for ₹10,000 ($140) per month. While the cost of subscribing to the annual package hasn't been revealed as of now, the monthly plans will range between Rs 700 to Rs 10,000. Reliance Jio also introduced a multiplayer online network.

That being said, Ambani also said the plans offered by Jio can also go up to ₹10,000 per month.

Jio GigaFiber subscribers will also be allowed access to a premium mobility service, called Jio Postpaid Plus.

Jio Postpaid is available to any customers who want to buys Jio SIM. Further, the default tariffs of Jio Home Phone are touted to be one-fifth to one-tenth of existing industry tariffs. Jio also unveiled affordable global calling rates like US/Canada pack priced at Rs 500 per month.

Ambani said that Jio which has amassed over 340 million mobile subscribers in less than three years, is now ready to fire four new growth engines including Internet of Things (IoT) for the entire country, home and enterprise broadband services as well as broadband for SMEs. There were also announcements made regarding a "zero latency gaming platform" along with a stage demo through the 4K set-top box that has support for most gaming controllers and will support gameplay in 4K.

The Jio Set-Top Box will rely on the broadband connection and is a combination of a gaming console.

This Set-Top Box can host console games such as Federation Internationale de Football Association 2019 and can pair with all popular controllers. Also, it is said to have built-in graphics. Moreover, Reliance Jio is working with leading game publishers, including Gameloft, Tencent, and Microsoft.

Reliance Jio in collaboration with MR startup Tesseract introduced Mixed Reality-based features. Moreover, Jio Fiber will launch a premium service where customers can watch movies at home on the release day itself, which will be launched in the middle of 2020.
