Quentin Tarantino has now responded to these criticisms, saying that because Bruce Lee was somewhat arrogant in real life, it would make sense for Mike Moh's interpretation of the actor and martial arts legend to deliver those lines.

Bruce Lee's daughter, Shannon Lee, h ad earlier said that her father was treated like a nusiance by white Hollywood and it's the same portrayal in Tarantino's film.

Director Quentin Tarantino has long maintained that he will retire from filmmaking after his 10th film, and it seems possible that could be a horror movie.

Bruce Lee fans have also taken Tarantino to task for the outcome of the fight scene.

"If you think about the idea of all the movies telling one story and each film is like a train boxcar connected to each other, this one would sort of be the big show-stopping climax of it all", he said.

Bruce Lee was kind of an arrogant guy.

More Kill Bill: "Me and Uma have talked about [a third Kill Bill] recently, ' he said on the podcast. I heard him say things like that to that effect", he said. "People are saying, 'Well, he never said he could beat up Muhammad Ali.' Uh, yeah, he did. Alright? Not only did he say that, but his wife, Linda Lee, said that in her - the first biography I ever read was Linda Lee's Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew, and she absolutely said it".

While Quentin Tarantino's new film, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" has been topping box office charts since its premiere in July, it has also brought in scathing reviews and backlash from critics. Bruce was screening a Cassius Clay [Muhammad Ali] documentary. "But if Cliff and Bruce were fighting in the jungles of the Philippines in a hand-to-hand combat fight, Cliff would kill him". The documentary showed Ali in several of his fights. Bruce said, "I'm studying every move he makes". For a man who prided himself on being one of the best martial artists to ever live, appearing to be bested by another in a fight that never even happened might rub those close to him the wrong way.

Assuming Polly is correct, Tarantino may have either misread the passage originally or be misremembering Lee's description.

Could Cliff beat up Bruce Lee? There's no actual victor of the fight, although many found it distasteful that Tarantino could diminish Bruce Lee's fighting skills by having him thrown into a auto by Cliff. If you ask me the question, OK, who would win in a fight: Bruce Lee or Dracula? While some criticized that it's disrespectful to Lee's talent to insinuate he would lose in a martial arts fight to the fictionalized stuntman, Tarantino once again defended the choice. If I say Cliff can beat Bruce Lee up, he's a fictional character, then he could beat Bruce Lee up.

But he bought Tarantino's point that the fight scene between Lee and Booth was needed to prove how risky Booth is.

"The reality of the situation is this: Cliff is a Green Beret", he continued.
