As expected, Apple has launched a new iPhone - the 11th version of its smartphone - and the big change is in cameras.

Prices will start at A$1,199 for the iPhone 11 in Australia. The main difference is the cameras. You can also take slo-mo video on the front camera now.

And the Pro Max at $AU1,601.

With only incremental updates to the iPhone models, analysts say Apple is in a "holding pattern" until it rolls out 5G phones with faster mobile data speeds next year.

With iPhone sales declining year over year for the past two fiscal quarters, investors are focusing on the growth potential for services.

The first crop of shows - which Cook did not announce - will drop on November 1, and more shows will be added to the service monthly after that. Although it also gave significant stage time to its trade-in program and installment payment plan to highlight that the phones were pretty affordable if you think about it (or choose not to think about it too much).

But Apple's streaming service undercuts the price of its rivals.

While many praised Apple for their low price, others pointed out that the streaming platform will only have 7 shows. compared to the extensive libraries of the other services.

What shows will Apple TV+ have?

This includes a reboot of Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories, news drama Morning Wars headlined by Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, an Emily Dickinson biopic, the sci-fi series See starring Jason Momoa and a Clerks-style comedy from JJ Abrams. Some industry insiders, however, have questioned Apple's content strategy.

Apple just shook up the entire streaming world by unveiling the price point for their new streaming service, and nearly immediately their competitors took a major hit. In addition to them, Apple also announced a bunch of services that will be available on them along with older iPhones as well. "Clearly, that was a positive that people were happy to hear".

As is traditional at this time of year Apple has been showing off the shiny iThings it wants you to buy over the coming year, so here's The Register's complete rundown of what's new from Cook & Co.

The new Apple Watch Series 5 (starting at $399) maintains the look of the Series 4 released past year, but adds a new always-on display, as well as a few new health-oriented features, along with the ability to make worldwide emergency calls and orient yourself using the integrated compass feature.

Arcade will have more than 100 exclusive titles for play on Apple's array of hardware.

Apple unveiled its iPhone 11 models on September 10, 2019 and cut its entry price to USD699.

It's probably still not exactly what iPhone owners have been asking for, but any concession from Apple is still a win.

Today's big Apple event was primarily focused on the iPhone 11 - but we also learned more about the company's Netflix competitor; Apple TV+.
