Jennifer Lopez appeared on "TODAY" radio with Hoda Kotb on September 10 and got emotional when discussing the possibility of receiving an Academy Award nomination for her incredible portrayal of a stripper in the new film "Hustlers".

During the interview, Hoda read out some of the reviews with Jennifer visibly emotional at all the glowing compliments, to which she responded: "I've just been working hard for so long, for my whole life".

"In short, and obviously depending upon what other films emerge this season, I feel good about Lopez's prospects - she would be only the fifth Latina lead actress Oscar nominee - and wouldn't rule out a screenplay or even a picture nom, either, given how much the Academy and society has changed over the last few years, "The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg said".

"I said, 'When I go upside down, make sure you see my face so they know it's me!" "I could not believe it", Lopez said.

She continued, "You work hard your whole life and you wonder if anybody notices in a sense, on that level, to be in that conversation. You have dreams when you're a little girl of being [at the Oscars], you know what I mean?"

In Hustlers, Lopez stars as Ramona, the head of a popular and successful strip club who aims to get the upper hand on her Wall Street clients with the help of her crew.

Lopez is joined by Lili Reinhart, left, Keke Palmer, second from right, and Constance Wu in Hustlers.

Lopez has been making the media rounds to promote her latest project following its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Jennifer Lopez, 50, is not taking her achievements for granted and she proved that when she couldn't hold back tears at the thought of possibly receiving an Oscar nomination for her role in the new film Hustlers.
