An ugly moment early in tonight's Brewers/Marlins game, as NL MVP favorite Christian Yelich fouled one hard right off his kneecap, immediately going to the ground in pain, and departing the game.

Brewers general manager David Stearns told reporters Thursday that Yelich's leg will be "immobilized for a while", saying the expected recovery timeframe from the injury is 8-10 weeks.

The reigning National League MVP underwent several tests in Milwaukee. Just two days after Milwaukee Brewers star Christian Yelich was lost for the season to a fractured kneecap, his teammates were on the field paying homage to the veteran. "We'll probably get that done over the weekend or next week".

"Look, at this position I assume what we're assuming and preparing for is that Christian is not likely to play all over again this year in any capacity", Stearns claimed Thursday on the team's flagship radio station WTMJ. The Brewers now trail the Cubs in the NL Wild Card race by 2.0 games. He also has 97 RBIs and 100 operates scored, with 30 stolen bases.

"Frustrating way for a season to end but these things happen in sports", Yelich tweeted.
