Minnesota, Stearns County COVID-19 Cases Hit Record Highs

The Minnesota Department of Health confirms 2,297 new cases of COVID-19 statewide with 13 newly reported deaths.

Note: According to MDH - "Because all data are preliminary, the change in number of cumulative positive cases and deaths from one day to the next may not equal the newly reported cases or deaths".

Minnesota is reporting a record-high number of new COVID-19 cases along with a record number of COVID-19 tests processed the day prior.

In counties: Allegheny is reporting an increase of 132 cases; Philadelphia an increase of 193; Berks an increase of 108 cases; DE an increase of 104; and Westmoreland an increase of 98 cases. It took from March 7 to July 6 (122 days) for the county to reach 1,000 cases.

Pennsylvania says it is seeing significant increases in the number of COVID-19 cases among younger age groups, particularly those ages 19-24.

According to the Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the virus has infected more than 39.4 million people worldwide and killed over 1.1 million people.

There have been over 117,000 people who have tested positive for the coronavirus.
