US President Donald Trump's Democratic rival Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris have wished Hindu Americans on the occasion of the nine-day Navratri festival.

The campaign said Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, both tested negative on Thursday. I wasn't in close contact-as defined by the CDC--with either during the 2 days prior to their positive tests.

Everyone else who was traveling with Harris on October 8 has also had multiple negative tests in the past week, the campaign said. The first lady, Melania Trump, Trump's son Barron Trump and other high-ranking members of the GOP also tested positive. Harris has now tested negative three times since traveling with them. "We hope she's doing well". "Out of an abundance of caution, I will cancel travel through Sunday and continue to campaign virtually".

He has been out on the campaign trail again, holding large rallies in North Carolina and Iowa.

The Biden campaign has sought to convey a sense of responsibility and caution around the virus, requiring that all staff, press and event attendees wear masks, and abiding by local rules about group gatherings.

According to Politico, however, on Thursday, Biden tested negative for COVID-19.

The statement said the person who tested positive was an "administrative member" of the company that charters Biden's 737 aircraft but was in the last row of the plane and "did not even have passing contact" with the former Vice President.

He now says he's "immune" from COVID-19, calling it a "blessing" from God.
