Almost 70,000 coronavirus infections were reported in the U.S. on Friday, marking the nation's single highest confirmed daily case count since July.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases in the province is now 93,391 since the start of the pandemic, and 6,038 people have died.

The 14 states that reached their highest-ever seven-day average of new daily cases were: Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. He added, "COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-LIVED DISEASE!"

New weekly cases have not dropped below 250,000 since June. That base was higher than it was in the spring and experts warned Americans should work to reduce it as the cold fall and winter months go by.

While the United States faces a new rise in cases, the Trump administration discussed some of its plans for vaccine distribution. In New Mexico, hospitalizations have increased 101% this month, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 has devastated the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, with the disease infecting more than 10% of the tribe and killing at least 81 of them, according to the memo. "But nothing depends on me now", she said.

The study backs World Health Organization guidance for regular and thorough hand washing to limit transmission of the virus, which has infected almost 40 million people around the world since it first emerged in China late previous year.

It doesn't have to be this way.

The father of three kids came back from Turkey and told his followers that he believed COVID-19 should be taken seriously.

And as cooler weather approaches, experts say, there are ways you can see some friends and family while still staying safe.

When researchers parsed through data from the Danish health registry of more than 473,000 people tested for COVID-19 and compared it to a control group of over 2.2. million people from the general populace, they found that among COVID-positive patients, there were fewer with blood type O and more with blood types A, B and AB.

The findings are based on patient data from Denmark and Vancouver, Canada.

Researchers say this information could be used in some way in regard to treatment of COVID-19.

Gilead Sciences, the drug's maker, said the findings did not mean the drug is of no benefit.
