Peanuts specials won't be airing this year on a free, over-the-air broadcast network for the first time since 1965. Instead, Apple TV+ has exclusive rights to it and the rest of the Charlie Brown specials.

For 55 years, it has been an American tradition to watch the Charlie Brown holiday specials on network TV. Even non-subscribers will be able to tune in on those dates.

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" became available for global streaming on the digital platform October 19 and will be available for free October 30-Nov. 1.

AppleTV+ is ordering more Peanuts from the menu.

Those upcoming projects are in addition to content like The Snoopy Show, which will showcase the all-new adventures of Charlie Brown's creative canine, and Peanuts in Space: Secrets of Apollo 10, Morgan Neville's 2019 documentary featuring Ron Howard and Jeff Goldblum.

Sadly, unlike years prior, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and other Peanuts specials will not air on ABC during the holiday season.

"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" is coming on November 18 for ‌Apple TV‌+ subscribers, and then it'll be free from November 25 through November 27 in the TV app. Next, A Charlie Brown Christmas drops on December 4th, and non-subscribers can stream from December 11th until December 13th.

Apple says not only will they have the original Peanuts holiday specials, but it is also teaming with WildBrain, Peanuts Worldwide, and Lee Mendelson Film Productions to produce new Peanuts holiday specials, including Mother's Day, Earth Day, and New Year's Eve, according to Wildbrain.com. However, it has announced that the show will be streamed as an Apple TV+ exclusive on December 4. Vulture reports that ABC's deal is over, implying that these Peanuts classics will only be available through Apple's streaming platform.
