Trump said he has a civil "We're not in a war, we have a good relationship", Trump said of his relationship with North Korea Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

Biden likened Kim Jong Un's diplomacy to working with Hitler.

But Biden indicated he was also willing to meet with Kim, saying his condition would be that Pyongyang works to make the Korean peninsula "a nuclear-free zone".

Trump said that former president Barack Obama had left him "a mess" on North Korea and had warned him of the risk of "nuclear war".

On Thursday night, US President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden clashed in a final debate ahead of the 3 November election on a whole array of pressing issues, including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, racism, and North Korea.

Mr Biden, in a brutal comparison, then said: "I understand we had a good relationship with Hitler before he in fact invaded Europe". "Having a good relationship with the leaders of other countries is a good thing", Trump said of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un during the October 22 debate.

After the summits, "we have a very good relationship". "He didn't like him".

Still, the parade showed how far Mr Kim's weapons programme has advanced over the past two years, despite Mr Trump's claim that North Korea was "no longer a nuclear threat".
