"I want to thank all the many, many people who were thinking of and praying for me over the last few weeks", Bowden said.

As for the illness, Bowden said with the help of his doctor and his wife, he was able to beat the coronavirus.

"I've had the chance to get a lot of wins in my life but I really wanted to win this one because I wanted to be around to vote for President Trump". "I just went through a battle with COVID-19 and God just wasn't ready to take me home yet to be with him".

On Thursday, the president thanked Bowden for his support.

He also laid out his reasons for wanting to reelect Trump, urged his supporters to cast their ballots for the president and added a "dadgumit" for emphasis. "But he hid behind the bible for years so now...when his day comes I hope he remembers", Sam wrote.

But until that time, we are here on earth, and America Is the greatest country this side of heaven. I'm exhausted of it.

Bowden said in his endorsement of Trump that he had been treated with multiple drugs including Remdesivir during his hospital stay for the coronavirus. At the age of 91, in many other countries, I might not have even been treated.

Bowden was hospitalized October 6, three days after he tested positive for COVID-19.

Bowden coached Florida State for 34 years and is second on the major college football career victories list, with 357, behind only that of the late Joe Paterno of Penn State.

Bowden endorsed Trump ahead of his 2016 presidential campaign.

The Seminoles won 10 or more games and finished among the top five in the final rankings for 14 straight seasons under Bowden from 1987-2000.
