Climbing on a blank white building together while taking turns to deliver their emotional verses is what they tried to show and depict in their song.

They have also both become tabloid fodder partially for being in a romantic relationship with a fellow celebrity, and both happen to have documentary projects out this year that directly address the process of making art under this intense spotlight.

The song will feature on Mendes" new album, "Wonder', due out on December 4.

The "Holy" singer admits that "bad moves" and "jealousy" turned his once adoring fans into a mob that kept "tearing me down" even after he took "responsibility for everything I've done". "I'm just competitive as is he so it was just a little playful jargon".

"I had a chip on my shoulder, had to let it go/ 'Cause unforgiveness keeps them in control/ I came in with good intentions then I let it go", Bieber sings as Mendes paces dangerously close to the edge. And it's hard. And his heart fell deep into it. "This is the human experience".

Last year, after Mendes was awarded the title "Prince of Pop" by Observer Magazine, Bieber quipped that Mendes still had a ways to go to officially "dethrone" him from the title and added that they could battle it out on the rink or basketball court to declare a victor. The Canadian pop pair have shared "Monster", which you can hear below. "He completely inspired me to start singing".
