Cowboys' Andy Dalton Says He Still Can't Taste, Smell After COVID Diagnosis

He's back on the practice field this week as he prepares to start Sunday against the Vikings. Then, COVID-19 sideswiped the Dalton family.

The QB added he is still trying to get his senses of smell and taste back.

Dalton told reporters the whole thing was actually pretty scary. he says the virus hit him HARD the first day - AND his wife and kids ended up coming down with it as well. However, two weeks later, Dalton was knocked out of Dallas' game against Washington with concussion and then tested positive for Covid-19.

Lawrence sees a similar Vikings offense to the one he faced against Cleveland, but the Pro Bowler believes Dalvin Cook is better still than the Browns backs, Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb (who got injured early in the game against Dallas).

"It was a insane three weeks for me, but I'm glad to be on the other side of it", Dalton said.

"Everybody is good now", Dalton said. "We feel like Dalvin Cook is a more elite back just by his skills and how he can cut the ball back at any moment on you, but we feel like we're going to see mostly the same scheme". I wish I could have been out there, I wish I could have played in the two games that I missed.

Losers of four straight, the Cowboys sit at 2-7, but in the woeful NFC East, they're not out of the race.

"Everything is out in front of us", Dalton said. All of that stuff doesn't matter at this point. Dallas needs Dalton to jump right back in and lead a winning streak if the dimming hopes of winning the division are to stay alive.
