Gordon Hayward's tenure in Boston has been less than ideal, to say the least. Now The Ringer's Ryen Russillo said on the most recent "The Bill Simmons Podcast" Hayward wants out of Boston but may not find a new landing place. Hayward would be opting out of $34.1 million for the upcoming 2020-21 season. However ESPN has reported that there's been some "buzz" that the 30-year-old could decide out and search a long-term cope with a brand new crew. That is why some believe he would be wise to opt into the final year and $34.1 million remaining on his contract for next season, but it's possible Hayward does not want to be in Boston anymore.

Contemplating how Hayward has struggled to stay wholesome and because of this been given a diminished function, behind Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Kemba Walker, many have speculated he'd be clever to simply accept the choice.

"I've heard Gordon Hayward does want out, but I don't know if he's gonna get the money. He's not opting out of that huge number unless he knows he's getting the deal".

During the 2019-20 season, Hayward appeared in 52 games, averaging 17.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He suffered a series of injuries throughout the season, including a concussion, ankle sprains and a foot injury.
