As a result, "Deadpool 3" is the first of the trilogy to be guided by Marvel Studios and its president Kevin Feige, officially bringing the character and his cohorts into the family-friendly MCU.

Emmy-winning writers Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux have been tapped to write "Deadpool 3", with Ryan Reynolds set to return as the foul-mouthed mercenary.

It's unknown why Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are not returning, who along with Reynolds wrote the first two movies, but according to Deadline, it's said that writer meetings have taken place over the past month with Reynolds recently meeting with a handful of writers to hear pitches for the next installment.

"In the end, the studio and Reynolds saw the sisters" take as the flawless fit for what they wanted", Deadline says, adding that while the film is still in "early development", the hiring of the Molyneux sisters marks the "first major step' in getting the next instalment into production.

Further details include the flick is still expected to be rated R and that it will probably have a new director as Deadpool 2 director David Leitch's schedule is full and Leitch wasn't involved with the writer search.

Thankfully, now there's a new glimmer of hope with the Molyneuxs - sisters and writing partners who serve as the creators and executive products on the new Fox series The Great North, which has already been renewed for a second season ahead of its February 2021 debut. "We're working on it right now with the whole team", the actor said. "We're over at Marvel, which is the big leagues all of a sudden". They have also written for the hit animated series Bob's Burgers.

Disney and Marvel had no comment on the development, first reported by Deadline.
