PM Modi's confidence has inspired the nation: RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani

Business magnate Mukesh Ambani said on November 21 that India has entered a crucial phase in its fight against the novel coronavirus and can not afford to let down its guard at this point. "We can not afford to let our guard down at this juncture", Mr Ambani, who is also the president of the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University (PDPU), said at the institute's eighth convocation.

Mr Tshering lauding Prime Minister Modi's leadership in tackling the pandemic expressed hope that India will come out much stronger from the pandemic.

Addressing the convocation ceremony, PM Modi said, "Today, you are entering the industry at a time when due to the pandemic, major changes are taking place in the energy sector of the world". He said India needs to pursue two goals - to become an economic superpower and a "green and clean energy" superpower.

"We need disruptive solutions in renewables, low carbon and carbon recycle technologies to achieve this goal. We also need great innovations in energy storage, saving and utilisation", he said.

He also asserted that India stands solidly with Bhutan in this hard hour of the COVID-19 pandemic, and said meeting the neighbouring country's requirements will always be its top priority.

According to the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), as of November 21, India has a caseload of 90,50,597 COVID-19 infections with 84,78,124 people recoveries and 4,39,747 active cases. "We can not afford to let our guard down at this juncture", he said.
