Yet another award has been won by Erling Haaland, with 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund striker having been crowned the victor of the 2020 Golden Boy prize.

The trophy is handed out by newspaper Tuttosport after an intensive voting process, including a panel of global experts, to the player under the age of 21 who is most likely to break out and become a star.

The Golden Boy award was established by Italian newspaper Tuttosport and is given to the best young player under the age of 21 across the European leagues with the victor now decided by an intense voting process and panel of global experts.

Haaland has six goals in as many Bundesliga appearances for last season's runners-up Dortmund this term.

Haaland has scored 27 goals in 29 games since arriving at BVB, and has been linked with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

That includes four goals in three Champions League matches.

But his father Alf-Inge Haaland told SPORT1 during the week: "When you play well, it's only logical that big clubs knock on your door, but we're talking about speculation here".

'At the moment it's not in Erling's or my head that another club will be vying for him.

"We signed a long-term contract with Dortmund and the this is a fantastic team for Erling at the moment". We don't want to look any further yet.

Asked if the close season could bring about a move, he added: "You never know what will happen". Neither Erling nor me are thinking about interest from other clubs. I think he wants to win trophies with Borussia. Erling can still achieve a lot in Germany and make great progress. "He is happy to be in Dortmund and to be playing for this club". "Overseas is not a priority for us", added Inge in the Sport 1 interview. He just wants to be a better player and doesn't look that far.
