Facebook extends work from home until 2021 (Includes interview)

This comes as more and more companies start to roll out their strategies for dealing with getting back to work.

Two of the biggest tech companies in the world - Facebook and Google - have reportedly allowed their employees to work from home till the end of 2020. Like many companies, Google has shifted nearly entirely to remote work, but CEO Sundar Pichai is reportedly planning for more employees to return to offices next month.

Microsoft recently announced that most of their employees would be required to work from home until October, and even then employees will have the option to remain at home if they prefer for some time after.

Also, the CEO said workers can take May 22 off to decompress so that they wouldn't suffer burnout. "Today, we announced anyone who can do their work remotely can choose to do so through the end of the year", said a spokesperson quoted by BBC.

"As you can imagine this is an evolving situation as employees and their families make important decisions about returning to work".

The social media company was actually quite quick off the mark regarding this.

The trend for working from home may suit some companies while they redesign their office spaces to cater to new social distancing guidelines. It is reported that Google and Facebook are giving their employees the facility to work from home (work from home) by the end of the year 2020.

Some employees are nervous about returning to work in the middle of a global pandemic.
