Homeless Man Allegedly Shoves Woman onto NYC Subway Tracks

She remembers it like a dream - a 70,000-pound solid steel dream that nearly crushed her in the bowels of the city, where subways rumble and train tracks squeal.

A report in NBC News said a judge ordered Vemulapati held until his December 4 court date.

The woman was rescued with the help of medical personnel and emergency services.

"What I remember, when I arrived there, I wanted to listen to my Bible, so I put it on this one, and it's the last thing that I remember", Sagbaicela said.

The incident happened at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday.

The woman, though, escaped only with minor injuries from her fall.

After shoving the woman, Vemulapati saw the police approaching and laid down on the platform.

Police say that suspect, 23-year-old Justin Pena, has a history of violently attacking straphangers. If and when in-person learning resumes, Llanos says she is not sure if she'll take the train again.

Sagbaicela, a housekeeper who lives in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, said she thought she had fainted and fallen onto the tracks.

A man was taken into custody after he reportedly pushed a woman onto train tracks at a New York City subway station as a train was pulling in, authorities said Thursday.

A conductor at the platform station witnessed the moment when the "disheveled-looking" man pushed the woman on the tracks, telling the New York Post that he yelled at the suspect who then dropped to the ground. "We have got folks in this city who desperately need mental health care".

After an individual was arrested in January for allegedly punching a 62-year-old man riding a southbound F train, New York City Transit interim President Sarah Feinberg stated "We've got a crisis in this city, and it absolutely has to be addressed".
