Princess Cruises Extends Suspension Into Spring 2021

Three Carnival Corp. cruise lines will extend their sailing cancellations until 2021, as the number of COVID-19 cases in the United States surges out of control, with more than 185,000 US cases reported Friday.

Princess says it also taking into consideration the temporary seven-day cap on itineraries that call at a US port.

Other cruises that will be impacted are selected longer voyages in Asia, Australia/New Zealand and South America through mid-April 2021.

Princess confirmed that it will protect commissions on bookings for cancelled cruises that were paid in full, "in recognition of the critical role they play in the cruise line's business and success".

Due to the uncertainty about when global travel restrictions might be lifted, Princess Cruises is extending its pause in operations for cruises departing in and out of Japan until June 25, 2021. Time will be needed to follow the framework on the Conditional Sailing Order that was announced by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention on October 30, 2020.

Princess is also extending its pause in operations for cruises departing in and out of Japan through June 25, 2021, due to the uncertainty about when global travel restrictions might be lifted.

Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises said: "We are focused on preparing our ships to meet the CDC health and safety requirements for our eventual return to service".

"We also appreciate the continued support we have received from our guests, partners and travel advisors, reinforcing for all of us why we do what we do".

Some departures will be rescheduled to comparable dates in 2022. Guests can choose to receive a refundable Future Cruise Credit (FCC) equivalent to 100% of the cruise fare paid plus an additional non-refundable bonus FCC equal to 25% of the cruise fare.

The FCC will be complete automatically unless guests request a full refund using an online form by December 31, 2020.

Seabourn also cancelled some of their 2021 voyages for two ships this week.

For Seabourn Odyssey, it will be select voyages from January 16 until November 15, 2021 that will be cancelled. Seabourn Quest voyages longer than seven days and stopping at a USA port are canceled from July 22, 2021, to November 6, 2021.
