The NBA Draft is finally here, and the long-awaited first pick has been revealed.

The Minnesota Timberwolves ended up not trading the No. 1 overall pick and took Georgia shooting guard Anthony Edwards.

"So many emotions", he said.

Edwards averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 33 minutes over 32 games as a freshman at the University of Georgia last season. "It's beyond measure to be in this situation".

The Timberwolves see the makings of an overpowering scorer, and a young player with the frame to grow into a capable defender, to put alongside Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell in a core that will be expected to vault a long-suffering team back to relevance in the Western Conference. I'm truly ready just to go to Golden State and go and learn as much as possible.

The Golden State Warriors selected Memphis center James Wiseman with the second overall pick in the National Basketball Association draft Wednesday night.

The Chicago Bulls took Patrick Williams with the fourth pick, Isaac Okoro went fifth to the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Atlanta Hawks took Onyeka Okongwu sixth overall.
