Environment Canada issues snowfall warnings as storm hits Ontario, Quebec

Snow is expected to begin on Sunday afternoon, with snow tapering off by Monday morning.

But the white stuff probably won't stick around, since rain is expected Monday.

"Ice pellets and rain will likely mix in this evening, further creating sloppy conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow".

"This is pretty normal for this time of year", said Perron, who noted that the first major snowfall usually arrives in mid- to late November.

The snowfall warning is also in effect for Renfrew, Pembroke and Barry's Bay, Smiths Falls, Lanark and Sharbot Lake.

A weather advisory has been issued for Brockville, Leeds, Grenville and Kingston areas, calling for seven to 14 centimetres of snow and poor visibility.

Environment Canada advises that a Winter Weather Travel Advisory is in effect for today for Hamilton, Halton and Peel.

Tonight: Snow at times heavy. Low minus 2 with temperature rising to zero by morning.

The snow will taper off early Monday morning. Amount 2 cm. High plus 2C.
