Joe Burrow has been ruled out for the rest of the Cincinnati Bengals' game at Washington with a left knee injury.

Carted off the field by the team's medical staff following a combined hit by two of Washington's defenders on a third-and-short pass in the game's third quarter, Joe Burrow tumbled to the ground and quickly tended to his left knee.

Burrow was unable to put any pressure on his leg, which led to him being helped by a cart. Burrow was 22-of-34 passing for 203 yards, one touchdown and one lost fumble before he went down in the third quarter. The 23-year-old appeared to confirm he'll miss the remainder of the campaign via Twitter.

Burrow has not had a recorded leg injury in his career, per Sports Injury Predictor.

After he threw a pass intended for Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd, Washington defensive linemen Jonathan Allen and Montez Sweat hit Burrow from opposite sides.

The Bengals held a 9-7 lead over Washington when Burrow was injured.

Burrow did not reveal the exact nature of his injury but said "see ya next year" in a tweet later on Sunday.

Burrow was the No. 1 pick in April's National Football League draft after a record-setting, Heisman Trophy-winning senior campaign at LSU.
