Mitchell has one year remaining on his rookie contract, which will pay him about $5.2 million in 2020-21, before the extension kicks in.

Utah Jazz All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell has agreed to a five-year designated rookie extension worth up to $195 million, his agents Ty Sullivan and Austin Brown of CAA Sports told ESPN.

Michell's extension comes with a guaranteed $163 million, but the total value could rise to $195 million if he meets All-NBA criteria this season, Wojnarowski adds.

The 24-year-old has impressed since debuting in 2017-18, averaging 22.7 points per game over his first three seasons. Mitchell has been a great young player who has kept Utah in the playoff conversation since he joined the league.

Mitchell led the Jazz to the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 44-28 record. He averaged 24.0 points per game last season while also setting career bests in assists (4.3 per game), field goal percentage (.449), 3-point percentage (.366) and free throw percentage (.863).

Mitchell had two 50-point games in the series, making him only the fourth player in National Basketball Association history to have multiple 50-point games in a playoff series.
