Georgia will conduct another recount of its presidential election results after a request from President Donald Trump's campaign, Axios reported.

"If there is no signature matching, this would be as phony as the initial vote count and recount".

Georgia hadn't voted for a Democratic presidential candidate since Bill Clinton in 1992.

In case of a recount, election officials in Georgia will have to re-scan the five million hand-recounted and audited legal ballots. "We are focused on ensuring that every aspect of Georgia State Law and the U.S. Constitution are followed so that every legal vote is counted".

"President Trump and his campaign continue to insist on an honest recount in Georgia, which has to include signature matching and other vital safeguards", a statement from Trump's legal team said.

On Friday, in certifying the state's electors, Kemp also brought up concerns about signatures.

The Trump campaign requested a recount in Georgia just one day after Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R) certified the state's votes, which maintained that Biden beat Trump by over 12,000 ballots.

"This will be highly scrutinized so emphasize to the counties the importance of transparency and accuracy of the process", Raffensperger said.

The recount will be done using scanners that read and tabulate the votes.

Raffensperger, who received threats for his work overseeing the election, has expressed full confidence in the vote count. But that stemmed from a mandatory audit requirement and isn't considered an official recount under the law.

Ever since Joe Biden was announced the victor a couple of weekends ago, Trump has been alleging voter fraud and claiming that the Democrats devised a plan to steal the election away from him.

Kemp said he's been frustrated by problems during the process, including previously uncounted ballots. Twitter has flagged the post as containing disputed information.
